Kermanshah (IP) - Iran's Minister of Health and Medical Education stated that Kermanshah has the potential to become a medical tourism hub in western Iran.

Iran Press/Iran News: "Kermanshah's proximity to both Iraq and Turkey is a special advantage for the province that can be used to make money through medical tourism," Iran's Minister of Health and Medical Education Saeid Namaki said on Tuesday on the sidelines of the inauguration of Golestan Hospital in Kermanshah, in western Iran.

"Iran's Ministry of Health has a special program for Kermanshah Province as a medical tourism destination," Namaki added.

The Iranian Health Minister also pointed to World Diabetes Day on November 14, adding: "The Ministry of Health and Medical Education has specific plans for controlling diabetes in Iran."
