In a telephone conversation with the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Japan's Foreign Minister expressed concern about the crisis in West Asia.

Iran PressIran news: Yoko Kamikawa, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, in a phone call with Ali Bagheri Kani, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, on Thursday, while expressing serious concern over the current deteriorating situation in the Middle East, stated that further escalation of the situation would not be in the interest of the region or the international community as a whole and that every effort should be made to avoid further tensions.

Ali Bagheri Kani also during this phone conversation condemned the Israeli regime’s targeting of civilian infrastructure in Gaza, including schools, mosques, and hospitals, terming the attacks as clear violations of international law and crimes against humanity.

"The main cause of this unbearable situation is the aid of the United States and some other Western countries to the criminal gang ruling in Tel Aviv on the one hand and the silence and inaction of some other Western countries against the obvious crime of this racist regime on the other hand," the Iranian top diplomat underlined.

Iran's acting foreign minister denounced the approach of the Westerners in the recent session of the United Nations Security Council, which prevented the UNSC from fulfilling its duty in effectively dealing with the Israeli regime; Bagheri cited that experience has proven that being silent in the face of Israeli military and security brutality makes this evil creature more insolent.

In this telephone conversation, the two sides affirmed the importance of peace and stability in the Middle East region and agreed to continue to maintain communication between Japan and Iran.
