Jahangiri: Trump’s threat reveals his unfamiliarity with Iranian history

Iran's First Vice President said that the US President's threatening tweet indicates that he is totally unfamiliar with Iranian history.

Iran Press/Iran news: Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the National Museum of Sports late on Monday, Es'haq Jahangiri added that US officials should review Iran’s history once to know what high status it had, and it is not in their favour to enter into a war with Tehran.

Referring to the US officials’ contradictory remarks regarding Iran, Iran's First Vice President added that Donald Trump himself has made these contradictory statements, perhaps because he doesn't want anybody inside Iran to figure out what he intends to do.

Es'haq Jahangiri added: "Senior officials and managers should pay no attention to the Americans’ statements. If we were to listen to the Americans’ words and see what they were doing, we cannot take even a single step in line with the country’s development. Of course, some pressures are psychological and some are real. The Americans want the Iranian nation to react in a way that they want."

The First Vice President went on to add: "Under the current circumstances, the entire country should act as one", noting that no pillar of the establishment should seek to undermine the other, especially the government which is administering and running the affairs of the country.

Jahangiri said: “The third necessity at present is restoring social assets and giving the public every hope for the future, as the Americans are keen to dash the hopes of the Iranian nation. They want to see us disappointed.”

He called on the elites to help raise public hope and promote social assets. At the end of his remarks, he said: “We should also handle the international situation in such a way that the US remains isolated, as they have been over the past years and months.”
