Iranians from all walks of life and Muslims in different countries such as Turkey, the Republic of Azerbaijan, India, Pakistan, Syria, and Lebanon attended the first night of Qadr rituals on Sunday night, coinciding with the night of the 19th of the holy month of Ramadan, by gathering in mosques.

Iran Press/Iran news: The nineteenth, twenty-first, and twenty-third nights of the holy month of Ramadan are the nights of Qadr, and Muslims pray to Allah by staying up at night, reciting the Qur'an, praying, and reciting the supplications of Jowshan Kabir.

It is believed to be the night when the Quran was first sent down from Heaven to the world and the night when the first verses of the Quran were revealed to Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

Morphologically,  the word 'Qadr' means measurement, and Muslims believe their destinies would be determined this night. However, another meaning of the word includes the real sense of existence, the characteristics of each creature, and how it was created. Or putting it another way, 'Qadr' means the limit of creation and the perimeter of creation of every creature and object.

According to  Holy Quran, the angels and the spirit descend on this night by God's permission,  and this night is better than 1000 regular months of the year. The  Muslims believe that during Qadr night, every man's destiny for the next year is determined.
