Bushehr (IP) - The Commander of the Second Naval Region of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) announced the seizure of a foreign vessel carrying more than one million liters of smuggled fuel in the Persian Gulf.

Iran PressIran News: Brigadier General Ramezan Zirrahi, the commander of IRGC Navy's second region, said round-the-clock monitoring of the Persian Gulf using modern and advanced equipment led to the seizure of a vessel carrying 1.450 thousand liters of smuggled fuel by the forces of the second region of the IRGC Navy.

Brigadier General Zirrahi stated that the destination of this foreign vessel was one of the countries of the Persian Gulf and added that thanks to the coordination of the judicial organization, an order was issued to seize the aforementioned vessel and the discovered smuggled diesel fuel was delivered to the National Oil Products Distribution Company of Bushehr region.

It should be noted that last year, 1,600,000 liters of smuggled fuel were discovered in the Persian Gulf.
