Iran Press/ Europe: Hemmati on Thursday called Mirwais Akram, the Deputy Head of the Afghan Red Crescent Society, expressing his condolences and conveyed sympathy of the Iranian people and government for the families of those affected by the flood in Afghanistan and said that Iran is ready to provide relief to the flood victims.
Akram also thanked the Iranian Red Crescent for its readiness and said: "The flood damage will be estimated by tomorrow and the emergency needs of the flood victims will be announced and based on that, the type of assistance and items needed will be announced to Iran."
The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kabul also issued a statement expressing its condolences to the government and people of Afghanistan, especially the families of the victims and injured.
A massive flood has hit the Charikar town, the capital of Parw?n Province, on Wednesday morning. Afghan news sources reported that 100 people were killed, 120 were injured and more than 500 houses were destroyed in the incident. 104/207
