Iran Press/ Middle East: Despite the defeat of ISIS in Iraq, the remnants of this terrorist group have been using the principle of surprise to carry out blind terrorist operations against Iraqi citizens and soldiers in parts of Diyala, Nineveh, Salah al-Din, Kirkuk and Anbar provinces.
On the other hand, the Iraqi military and security forces are still trying to completely clear these areas of terrorist elements.
Taleb Al-Mousavi, commander of Iraqi PMU (Hashd al-Shaabi) in Diyali province, announced that this operation has been started from two spots to clear the forests and gardens adjacent to the northern part from the presence of terrorism.
He added: "The aim of the Iraqi forces in this operation is to end the activities of dormant terrorist cells while ensuring the security of the liberated areas and villages, and pursue dangerous wanted persons."
In this regard, Sadiq al-Husseini, one of the commanders of Hashd al-Shaabi, said: "The Iraqi PMU forces started extensive security operations in 5 important districts in Diyala, including al-Waqf, north of Miqdadiyah and Shervin.
Al-Hosseini said: "This operation is carried out in line with the Diyala operation headquarters to pursue the designated goals. 219
