Iran Press/ Middle East: Mohamed Al-Halbousi made the remark in a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.
The two officials discussed Iran-Iraq relations and stressed the importance of bilateral cooperation in different fields.
The Iraqi speaker said that Iraq’s doors are open to the neighboring states as well as Arab and international friends, underlining that parliament backs the Iraqi government’s efforts to enhance ties with Iran.
For his part, Amir-Abdollahian said that the Islamic Republic of Iran always supports development and stability in Iraq.
Amir-Abdollahian arrived in the Iraqi capital earlier on Wednesday for a two-day visit, heading a high-ranking delegation.
Iran's top diplomat also met and held talks with his Iraqi counterpart, Fuad Hussein, and Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid in Baghdad.
