Iran Press / Iran news: Abdolhamid Ahmadi the deputy minister for sports, in an interview with Iran Press on Tuesday said: "Bearing in mind the dire conditions in Yemen, the humanitarian disaster brought about by the arrogant regimes and the difficult, bitter situation the Yemeni people are facing, in particular Yemen's children, "in a symbolic move" Iran's Sports Community along with other strata of society declared their support for the Yemeni people.
He said: "What we are seeing today is that all the different sectors of the sports community, and sports federations of the country with participation of Basij Sport Organization, are taking part in a traditional sporting and cultural fund raising event, which is called 'Golrizan' . This event is held at the Veteran and Disabled Sports Federation of Iran.
Our sportsmen and sportswomen have declared their support for the oppressed people of Yemen, and specially the children of Yemen, and to publicly announce their declaration of support to the international community. They also collect and deliver much-needed aid for the people of Yemen – aid which has been donated by the sporting community.
