Russia (IP) - The Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) talked with his Russian counterpart in Moscow over bilateral and regional issues.

Iran PressEurope: The Head of Iran's SNSC, Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani, met with his Russian counterpart, Nikolai Patrushev, on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. 

Shamkhani's visit to Russia aimed at taking part in the 5th Regional Security Dialogue Meeting. In the regional meeting held on Wednesday morning, he explained Iran's views on the return of stability to Afghanistan and emphasized that the foreign forces cause insecurity for the region's countries.

The meeting kicked off with the participation of the national security figures of Afghanistan's neighboring countries including Iran, Russia, India, China, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan. 

The event was an initiative of Iran four rounds of which have been so far held in Tehran, New Delhi, and Dushanbe.
