Iran Press/ Iran news: Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian is to answer the questions of Iranian and foreign reporters in his first press conference since his taking office as president.
Masoud Pezeshkian said on Monday, September 16, that the first step in preparing the grounds for the facilitation of the economic activity of the Iranian and foreign businessmen and boosting national production.
Pezeshkian noted that Iran is decisive in implementing the 25-year comprehensive agreement signed between China and Iran while trying to revive the communication routes for trade between the two countries.
He appreciated China for the mediation between Iran and Saudi Arabia which led to the restoration of ties.
The Iranian president referred to his first visit to Iraq and said he would keep ties with the neighboring countries as a central foreign policy of the Islamic Republic.
Iran Not Give Yemeni Army Missiles, They Have the Knowlege
A question was posed by Al-Jazeera about the recent operation of Yemen against the Israeli regime which targeted Tel Aviv, and the rumors about the role of Iran in providing such a missile.
Pezeshkian told the Al-Jazeera reporter that transferring human force to Yemen takes long one week and such arms transference to Yemen is impossible because if any such missile entered Yemen it would be noticed.
He pointed out: "We don't have that type of missile in Iran either, and getting such a missile is not a matter of a day or a week. Knowledge and skills are acquired over time. It is impossible to achieve such technology in one year."
Still, he said that Iran and Yemen are in a common boat with regard to the issue of the Israeli regime that kills human beings before the eyes of the world.
Iran's President stressed that the regime kills people and no international body reacts but the US and Europe also give missiles and bombs to Israel and are not worried about the people of Gaza and Palestine.
"Yemenis had missile power before the war [on Gaza] happened, and now they are producing missiles themselves; Of course, we and Yemen have relations and we do not want Israel to kill people. We want them to respect international laws; Where does the law has allowed them to kill people and attack the hospital?"
Why Boundaries Between Islamic Countries?
Iran's president stressed that the Islamic countries should get united in a way that no boundaries are needed to separate them.
He said that the ruling systems must be separated: "But why shouldn't an individual in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia or Turkey easily travel from their place of residence to Mecca, Medina, Istanbul and other cities."
The world's Muslims should behave in such a way that other countries yearn for their internal relations, he stressed.
He said: "We can move easily together, it means that we have developed our own economy and culture, and we have boosted each other's markets, and at the same time, we are forming a great power in the region, and get united against those who seek to take action against and ignore Muslims' rights."
Iran Seeks No Wars But Reserves Right to Defend
As Iran is expected to give a response soon to the Israeli regime's aggression on Iran and the assassination of Ismail Haniya in Tehran, Pezeshkian stressed that Iran is not after the war and adheres to international law.
Pezeshkian said that the Israeli regime's actions in the region, including the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh in Iran, are just attempts to drag Iran into a regional war, but Iran has so far exercised self-restraint and reserves the right to defend itself in the due time.
Still, he pointed out that Iran does not seek nuclear weapons and adheres to the agreements already signed, such as the NPT, the IAEA safeguard, and the Iranian international nuclear agreement known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
He said that the US scrapped the JCPOA in 2018 and the European parties refused to fulfill their commitments to the international deal, but Iran wants to revive the deal in case the US and European parties return the agreement they signed and fulfill their commitments to it.
"[The Islamic Republic of] Iran has never been the initiator of any war and the history of the past 100 years shows that we have not been an initiator of war," President Pezeshkian reiterated.
US Had Better Show Loyalty First, Then Ask for Favors
President Pezeshkian is scheduled to take a trip to New York to participate in the UN General Assembly annual meeting so he was asked about the possibility of any meeting with the US President on the sidelines of the meeting.
Pezeshkian said in response that the US must show its loyalty first, then ask for favors, and that Iran has no conflict with any country.
"We have no fight with anyone, but they [the US] are the ones who have closed the roads on us. First of all, the US should show that it is not hostile to us. We did not build [military] bases around America and sanction them, they did it."
He noted that the US has represented Iran to the world in such a way that the general public imagines that Iran is a warmongering country while Iran is a peace-seeking country.
The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran reiterated that the Iranian nation stands to defend its country and never let others violate the country's territorial integrity and sovereignty.
As with the president's imminent trip to Russia to participate in the BRICS countries' meeting, on the one hand, and the US sanctions on the independent countries, on the other hand, Pezeshkian told the reporters that Iran's relations with Russia, China, and other countries that are under the US cruel sanction go well and with strength.
Yet, he added, Iran neither accepts any bullying and interference from the countries nor does it like to cut off ties with the countries.
If BRICS countries interact with each other, cruel sanctions will not be effective, he said.
