Mohammad Khazaee, one of the pilgrims detained in the 2024 Hajj rituals, entered Iran after he was freed from the Saudi jails.

Spending 70 days in the Saudi jails, Mohammad Khazaee was freed on Tuesday morning and returned to Tehran in the evening. 

Khazaee, a PhD. candidate in General Law was detained by the Saudi police on June 19 in Masjid ul-Haram, Mecca, due to publishing some posts in X and carrying Palestine's flag in the country. 

Earlier, another Iranian Kazem Rouhbakhsh, was released from the Saudi prisons; he was arrested for 20 days for publishing content in cyberspace against the Israeli regime.

The Saudi government also banned the Iranian press group from the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) which went to Medina and Mecca to cover the 2024 Hajj rituals.
