The most important duty of Islamic Republic of Iran Navy toward the political system and the nation is to protect maritime regions which are under sovereignty of Iran, Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi said.
Islamic Republic of Iran Navy presence in the sea is the symbol of the authority of our nation. Because of that Islamic Republic of Iran Navy need modern equipment, Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral added.
We have a good news for Iranian people, a new Fateh-class submarine will join to the Navy fleet this year, Hossein Khanzadi noted.
All this defensive equipment that I mentioned are used for collective security, and it is in the benefit of all the countries in the region, Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral stated.
