Tehran (IP)- An Iranian member of Parliament stressed that a good MP should be courageous, must not be fearful of those who have power, and must be independent.

Iran Press/Iran news: An Iranian parliamentarian representing Tehran, Ahmad Mazani  in an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Thursday, said members of parliament (Majlis) should be elected to office through the votes of their constituencies.

Mazani stressed that MPs should have the necessary skills and knowledge to legislate, and another characteristic of a good MP is that she/he must not be fearful of those in high office, and must be independent.

Mazani's words came on  the fifth day of registration of candidates for the eleventh term of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, and the registration of candidates for the Majlis (parliament) started at the Ministry of Interior early in the morning of Thursday 5 December 2019, with many ordinary people, as well as well-known officials and personalities, registering as would-be candidates.
