Iran Press/Iran news: The exercise, which began on October 26, has been focused on dismantling terrorist groups in the region, which has long been a hotbed for cross-border insurgencies.
Brigadier General Ahmad Shafa'i, the spokesperson for the operation, reported that three terrorists were killed, and nine others were captured during a clean-up operation on Sunday. Additionally, two members of the terrorist teams surrendered to Iranian security forces. As of the latest update, a total of 15 terrorists have been killed, and 33 have been arrested since the operation's commencement.
The operation is part of a broader effort by Iran to secure its borders and eliminate foreign-backed terrorist cells operating in the region. Shafa'i accused the U.S. and European powers of providing arms to the groups carrying out attacks against Iranian territory, citing these actions as part of a larger strategy to destabilize the country.
The security forces have vowed to continue their efforts to rid the region of terrorist elements and restore order in the southeastern part of the country.
