In a decisive anti-terror operation, Iran’s law enforcement spokesperson announced the death of the leader behind the recent Taftan terrorist attack, fulfilling their promise to avenge fallen police officers.

Iran Press/Iran news:  Brigadier General Saeed Montazer al-Mahdi, during a visit to Sistan and Baluchestan province, stated, "We have delivered on our promise to seek justice for the blood of our martyred police officers.” He noted that Police Chief Brigadier General Ahmadreza Radan had pledged to honor their sacrifice and ensure justice.

Within a week of the incident, key members of the terror team were either eliminated or captured. The leader of the terrorists was identified and killed moments ago in Goharkouh, a district in Taftan, following an extensive intelligence operation by police counter-terrorism units.

Montazer al-Mahdi reported that two more terrorists were arrested in the past 24 hours, one of whom filmed the attack scene and will face justice. Six other individuals, who supported the terrorists, were detained and confessed to their roles in the deaths of police officers in recent years.

The attack had occurred as police forces were returning from an emergency call in Taftan, responding to local citizens’ requests. They were ambushed by criminals on their return, resulting in their deaths.

Montazer al-Mahdi commended the rapid response and close cooperation with the IRGC’s Quds Headquarters, the Ministry of Intelligence, and the Police Intelligence Organization, which contributed to the swift action taken against the terrorist group.
