PERSIAN RICE CUSTARD

Fereni is a must-try delicious pudding that Iranian people eat it mostly in Ramadan but during other time of the year cooking Fereni is common between them.

Iran PressIran news: Fereni is a traditional Persian pudding dessert made with rice flour, sugar, milk, rose water, and a pinch of cardamom.

This simple Persian rice flour dessert is very comforting for cold days and can be served warm or cold.

Here is the recipe for this famous Persian dessert:

Ingredients:

3 cups cold milk

4 tablespoons sugar

4 tablespoons rice flour

2 tablespoons rosewater (you can find it at any Iranian store)

pinch of ground cardamom

slivered pistachios for garnish

ground cinnamon for garnish

Instructions:

Dissolve rice flour in cold milk until smooth.

Place flour mixture, sugar, cardamom, and rosewater in a small saucepan over medium-low heat, stirring constantly until comes to a boil and thickens about 30 minutes.

Pour into individual dessert dishes and garnish with cinnamon and pistachios. Serve cold or hot.
