Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran upon his arrival in New York; emphasized that War crimes and genocide against civilians in Gaza and the West Bank must be stopped immediately.

Iran PressAmerica: In response to the crimes committed by the Israeli regime and the occupation, the Palestinian resistance forces have launched a comprehensive and unique operation called Al-Aqsa Flood from the Gaza Strip against the positions of the Zionist regime in the occupied territories since Saturday, October 7, 2023.

The army of this regime, which does not have the ability to deal with the resistance fighters, from the very beginning of the operation, has been continuously bombing residential areas, hospitals, religious centers and schools in Gaza, as a result of which, so far, more than six thousand people have been martyred and more than 18 thousand people have been injured.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, arrived in New York on Wednesday evening local time.

Addressing the press, Amir-Abdollahian said: " The situation in the West Asian region is critical due to the massacre and genocide that is going on against the civilian population of Gaza, and the support that the United States and a few European countries blindly but wholeheartedly provide to the Zionist regime, has deteriorated it to a worrying point for all countries in the region."

Iran's Foreign Minister added: "The immediate cessation of war crimes and genocide against the civilians of Gaza and the West Bank should be part of any resolution."

Amir-Abdollahian stated: "We have always loudly announced that Hamas is a Palestinian liberation movement that has acted against the sinister phenomenon of Israeli occupation, and this status is also given to any liberation movement whose country or part of its territory is occupied, based on international law.

Iran's Foreign Minister also said: "What is related to the actions of resistance groups and Palestinian liberation groups against the occupation is completely rooted in international law and the United Nations Charter." 219
