Broken Whispers, made by an Iranian filmmaker, will be showcased at Japan's Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival.

Iran PressAsia: Amir Masoud and Amir Athar Soheili directed the Iranian documentary Broken Whispers, according to Iran Press.     

The Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival takes place every two years in Japan and is considered one of Asia's most significant film festivals. It has a history spanning 34 years. 

The documentary film 'Broken Whispers' is a joint production of Iran and Syria by Mehdi Motahar in 2022. It is a feature-length documentary.

The Yamagata Festival's New Asian Currents section features notable films from France, China, Korea, Japan, India, Myanmar, and Egypt. Among these films, Broken Whispers is the only documentary that represents Iran. It competes in the festival's competitive section.

The Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival for 2023 will take place in Yamagata, Japan, from October 5 to October 12, 2023.
