Astana (IP) - A delegation of twelve industrial managers from Golestan province, northern Iran, traveled to Kazakhstan to discuss joint projects and develop economic relations with the country.

Iran PressAsia: The delegation active in the field of food products and construction, started their trip from Almaty by meeting "Baurzhan Dasim Bekov, vice president of Almaty governorate for investment affairs.

Dasim Bekov explained his country's new plans for attracting foreign investments and expressed Kazakhstan's readiness for carrying out joint projects with Iran.

Also, the Consul of Iran in Almaty also referred to the numerous meetings between the presidents of Iran and Kazakhstan and their determination to improve the level of relations and increase the volume of trade up to $3 billion. 

The head of the Iranian delegation, Ehsan Malek-Shahkouee told Iran Press: "Golestan province has special partnerships with Kazakhstan, and nearly 7,000 Kazakhs are living in the province, which is a very good basis for cooperation."

Carrying out two flights monthly from the province to Aktau port city in Kazakhstan along with the export of technical and engineering services and strategic goods from Iran can play an important role in the expansion of relations between the two countries, he said.

The Iranian delegation continued then attended the Iranian Consulate General in Almaty and met with the Kazakh businessmen and producers, discussing the export of goods and economic cooperation.

The Direct of Iranian-based Kazakh Assembly Taif Beigi told in an interview with Iran Press about the Kazakhsyan's $140 billion trade exchange in the last year and said that Iran's share of the amount was less than 0.5 percent. 

He expressed hope that with the Kazakh Prime Minister's visit to Iran, the amount of trade between the two countries reaches up to $3 billion. 

The Iranian business delegation left Almaty for Aktau last night to keep on the consultations.
