Iran PressIran news:  Iran's ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani who was injured in the deadly pager attacks by Israel targeting Iranian officials in Beirut, had been transferred to Tehran for medical treatment. Now fully recovered, he will resume his mission in Lebanon.

Before his departure, Amani met with Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Tehran to discuss his upcoming diplomatic agenda.

In a statement following their meeting, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasized the importance of taking comprehensive political and international measures to halt violence and prevent further attacks on Lebanon by Israeli forces.

He provided Amani with updated diplomatic directives, reinforcing Iran’s commitment to support Lebanon’s stability and security amidst escalating regional tensions.

Israel has confirmed that prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave the green signal for the deadly pager attacks in Lebanon and Syria in September.

Pagers exploded across the two countries, killing nearly 40 people, including two children, and wounding over 3,000 people just days before Israel intensified its war against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.

The explosions were blamed on Israel, but the Netanyahu government had refrained from confirming or denying its involvement. Hezbollah described the explosions as the “largest security breach” in nearly a year of renewed conflict with Israel.
