Iran Press/ Middle East: During Saturday's meeting between Yemeni National Salvation Government (NSG)'s Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf Abdullah and Iranian Ambassador to Sana'a Hassan Irlou, bilateral cooperation and the latest developments in the region and the Persian Gulf were discussed.
The meeting also reviewed the results of the UN Special Envoy for Yemen Martin Griffiths' visit to Tehran.
The Yemeni foreign minister highlighted that the political leadership in Sana'a, on behalf of the Supreme Political Council and the Government of National Salvation, was serious in its stated positions to the world for a political settlement and peace and responding to international actions and plans in this regard.
He also stressed the need for retaliation if the US-Saudi aggression coalition did not stop airstrikes, bomb civilian areas, cities, villages, and continue to seize ships carrying fuel and gas.
"As long as the Yemeni people are under the most severe siege and daily suffering, Sana'a will do its utmost to ensure that the ports and airports of the aggressor coalition countries bear part of the consequences of the Yemeni people's suffering," he pointed.
Irlou for his part said: "The Islamic Republic supports a political solution, and there is no military solution to what happened in Yemen."
He stated that Iran supported any sincere approach and strived for peace in Yemen, and had proposed a four-point peace plan to the United Nations.
Irlou underlined that Iran supported the efforts of the UN special envoy for Yemen to end the aggression and lift the siege.
