Iran Press/ Iran News: Abbas Araghchi told The Independent that 'maximum pressure' from the United States has produced 'maximum resistance' from Iran, and that Tehran will continue to resist.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister went on to say that to get real negotiations started, this economic war has to end first and we need a ceasefire in order to do real negotiations and find sustainable solutions.
Regarding to the Iranian nuclear deal Araghchi noted: "If Trump returns to the JCPOA, we will again negotiate with the United States in the format of a P5+1 meeting."
On Tuesday, May 8, 2018, United States President Donald Trump withdrew his country from the JCPOA unilaterally and announced the return of sanctions.
So on 8 May 2019, the first anniversary of the US withdrawal from the nuclear deal (JCPOA), Iran announced that it was partially discontinuing its obligations under the JCPOA and urged the remaining parties to the nuclear deal – China, France, Germany, Russia, and the United Kingdom – to shield Tehran from Washington's sanctions.
Tehran says its countermeasures fit within its rights under paragraphs 26 and 36 of the nuclear deal, and that it will reverse the measures once its demands are met.
