Iran Press/ Asia: Gholam Abbas Arbab Khales stated on Friday that consultation with Turkmen officials and economic activists was held on the sideline of the exhibition and conference of the Union of Industrialists in this country.
He added that the exhibition was held with the participation of 200 companies in different product and service sectors and was attended by Turkmen Foreign Minister.
The ambassador further stated, “In these consultations, Iran's economic capabilities and capacities in various fields such as agriculture, engineering, treatment and medicine, tourism, furniture, and wood industries, food industry, and building materials were discussed."
He expressed hope that following these consultations, good steps would be taken to boost economic ties with the country’s private sector.
The Republic of Turkmenistan has a land border with Iran, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, and Kazakhstan.
Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mohammad Eslami on 23 Oct said that helpful negotiation has been made with Turkmenistan to promote aims of the joint economic commission.
Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mohammad Eslami in an interview with Iran Press News Agency about the situation of Iran-Turkmenistan joint economic commission said: "More than 50 companies from two countries are active in a special economic forum in Turkmenistan Capital of Ashgabat. They had done negotiations and signed mutual contracts."
Also, the first exclusive exhibition of Turkmenistan products had been held in the city of Mashhad in northeastern Iran on 26 Aug 2019.
The exhibition's aim was to enhance the economic relations of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Turkmenistan and increase the volume of trade between the two countries is held in 38 show booths.
