Iran Press/ Iran News: Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Rostam Qasemi and Turkmen Foreign Minister Raşit Meredow chaired the commission.
The commission has also inked a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in gas, electricity, and energy swaps, construction materials and hardware, and steel, rail transit, and freight roads.
It should be noted that the 15th meeting of the Joint Commission for Cooperation of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Turkmenistan was held in Ashgabat in October 2019, according to which an economic memorandum was signed between the two countries.
Turkmen Foreign Minister, Raşit Meredow, arrived in Tehran today to attend a meeting of Afghanistan's neighbors.
Tehran will host the second meeting of foreign ministers of Iran, China, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan (Afghanistan's neighboring countries) on Wednesday, Oct 27, 2021.

Iran's Road and Urban Development Minister stated that Iran and Turkmenistan have agreed to develop their ties on gas, oil, and energy by inking agreements.
Iran is interested in extending ties with Turkmenistan more than before, Rostam Ghasemi noted.
Speaking at the 16th Iran-Turkeminatan Joint Economic Commission ceremony, Iran's Road and Urban Development Minister added Iran, Turkmenistan road transit capacities would double, he said.
"Activating marin transit between Iran and Turkmenistan will play a significant role in improving the level of economic and trade cooperations between the two countries," he stressed.
"Turkmenistan will also transit goods to other countries via Chabahar Port even to Russia," said the Iranian Minister.
Turkmenistan Foreign Minister Raşit Meredow also said, "The two countries can cooperate in energy, transportation, and transit of water and trade facilities."
"It was decided to have the highest level of bilateral trade and transit ties in terms of quantity and quality," said Turkmen Foreign Minister Raşit Meredow.
He further stated: "We will continue our talks in Ashgabat and Tehran."
Both sides have agreed to invest in health and education sectors, underlined the Turkmen official.
