Moscow (IP)- The head of Iran's General Inspection Organization has travelled to Russia to participate in the 8th East Asia Summit of the Asian Ombudsman Association (AOA).

Iran PressEurope: The head of the General Inspection Organization (GIO) Zabihollah Khodaeian arrived at Moscow's Sheremetyevo International Airport on Sunday to participate in the 8th meeting of the Asian Ombudsman, according to Iran Press.

The ombudsman is an organization that is responsible for monitoring the implementation of laws and protecting the citizens' rights against governments and institutions.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is one of the active members of the Board of Directors of the Asian Ombudsman Association (AOA).

Upon his arrival to Moscow, Iranian official Khodaeian named the election of the board of directors of the Asian Ombudsman Association as the most important part of the agenda of the meeting in Kazan, Russia.

He pointed to the bilateral meeting and consultation with the ombudsmen of Russia, China, and some other countries, saying that he would hold talks with the authorities of the Republic of Tatarstan about ways to develop cooperation, especially in protecting citizens' rights and monitoring the good implementation of laws.
