Damascus (IP) - The Deputy Minister and Head of the Organization for Investment Economic and Technical Assistance of Iran, during his trip to Syria, met with Syrian officials and discussed the development of cooperation between the two countries in the electricity industry.

Iran PressMiddle East: Heading a specialized and expert delegation Ali Fakhri has traveled to Syria to operate the Abu Kamal-Al-Qa'im border crossing and develop cooperation between Iran and Syria in the electricity industry.

The Deputy Minister of Economy, while attending the Abu Kamal border crossing, emphasized the transit through Syria as one of the missing links in the East-West corridor and the development of cooperation in the electricity industry with this country.

In another part of the trip, while visiting the Aleppo power plant, he announced Iran's readiness for the comprehensive design development of Syria's electricity network and transmission.
