Syrian Ambassador in Tehran met with representatives of various Iranian commercial, industrial, and craft sectors, discussing the means to boost and develop economic, trade, and investment cooperation between the two countries.

Iran PressIran news: During the meeting at the Syrian Embassy in Tehran on Sunday, Shafiq Diop stressed the importance of benefiting from the new Investment Law No. 18 for 2021, which aims to create an attractive and suitable investment environment for Arab and foreign investors.

Diop called for establishing joint companies between Syria and Iran and strengthening the role of the private sector to serve the interests of the two friendly countries in the economic and commercial fields.

He further emphasized the need to work together to establish joint technology companies, exchange knowledge experiences, and search for suitable alternatives to overcome the impacts of the unilateral and illegal coercive sanctions imposed on the two countries.

Diop affirmed the importance of exerting more efforts to strengthen economic and trade relations to rise to the level of the strategic political relations between the two countries and establishing exhibitions in a way that contributes to introducing their citizens to the products and goods produced in both countries.

He invited Iranian companies and businessmen to participate in the 3rd conference for the reconstruction of Syria, entitled “Investment Prospects and Vision,” to be held in Damascus next May.

In turn, the Iranian delegation stressed the importance of cooperation with Syria in various economic, medical, industrial, technological, and knowledge fields, calling for addressing all technical issues in a way that contributes to strengthening relations between the two countries.
