Tehran (IP) - Iran's Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance announced that Iran and Syria have launched a joint bank and insurance venture.

Iran PressIran news: Ehsan Khandouzi, Iran's Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance, met with Mohammed Samer Al-Khalil, Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, and Iyad Mohammad Al-Khatib, Minister of Communications and Technology of Syria, in Tehran.

The Iranian Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance has highlighted the desire of Iran and Syria to boost their trade and investment. He emphasized the importance of supporting Iranian businessmen and investors to utilize insurance services and receive easier financial and banking transfers in Syria to achieve this goal.

Khandouzi has announced the establishment of a joint insurance company with a consortium of Iranian and Syrian insurance companies. A cooperative bank will also be established, with the Iranian side holding a 60% share and the Syrian side holding a 40% share.

The Iranian Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance has announced the establishment of two new economic organizations that will facilitate investment between the two countries. These initiatives have been granted official licenses and are now operational.

Iran's Khandouzi expressed hope that with more cooperation between the two countries, especially in the tax, customs, and investments of Iranian companies in Syria, the two countries are set to commence a new era of economic relations. 

Iran and Syria have strategic cooperation. Iran's support for Syria's legitimate government during the Syrian crisis, including helping the Bashar al-Assad government combat terrorist groups, demonstrates this partnership. 

Since the defeat of the ISIS terrorist group, the relationship between Syria and Iran has become more extensive and diverse. There are promising opportunities for further growth in all areas of their bilateral ties.
