Iran, Syria emphasize need to boost bilateral cooperation

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and President-elect Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi emphasized the need for further strengthening Tehran-Damascus comprehensive cooperation.

Iran Press/Iran news: During a phone call initiated by the Syrian side on Monday evening, Assad congratulated Raisi on his election as the 13th Iranian President.

President Assad wished further progress of the Islamic Republic of Iran during Raisi’s tenure, and continuation of Iran’s achievements in all possible fields.

The Syrian official news agency, SANA, reported that President Assad and President-elect Raisi as being both agreed on the need for further strengthening bilateral comprehensive cooperation as well as continuous consultations on issues of mutual interest, and harmony between the two countries in that field.

Raisi won the 13th Presidential Elections of the Islamic Republic of Iran with more than 18 million votes to become the 8th Iranian president.
