Pezeshkian and bin Salman stress the importance of developing Tehran-Riyadh relations

Iranian President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian also expressed his gratitude to the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia for his good feelings. The two sides also emphasized the need to develop cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Iran in various fields.

Improving and strengthening relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia in recent years, especially in the 13th government and in the person of the late and martyred President and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, has been one of the foreign policy priorities, and as it appears from the statements of the officials of the two countries, both sides are seriously interested in preserving this precious heritage and strengthen it in line with the mutual interests of the region and the Muslim world.

In the election debates and in numerous contacts with the officials of the regional countries in recent days, the President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian has repeatedly emphasized that the priority of his government, like the 13th government under Martyr Ebrahim Raisi, is to strengthen relations with neighboring countries and the region, and in the meantime, Saudi Arabia has a special status in the development of these relations.

It is clear that the improvement of relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia as two major oil powers and also two important Islamic countries, in addition to forming new political and economic interactions between the two countries, can lead to the expansion of stability and security in the region.

Meanwhile, the improvement of relations between Iran and the Arab countries of the region, including Saudi Arabia, is considered a failure for the policies of the United States and the Zionist regime in isolating Iran. Therefore, the strengthening and resumption of political relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia should be considered a turning point in regional and international developments, because now Iran and Saudi Arabia, as two regional poles, are on the way to reducing tensions in the region and defining joint projects in bilateral relations. Since the agreement reached in March last year between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia, with the mediation of China, the senior officials of Tehran and Riyadh have held numerous consultations on issues of interest, especially the beginning of a new round of conflicts on October 7 and the heavy attacks of the Zionist regime on the Gaza Strip

Also, Saudi Arabia, which had announced its agreement to begin the process of normalizing relations with the Zionist regime before October 7, announced after the escalation of attacks on Palestinian lands that it has suspended any negotiations in this regard, which was welcomed by Iran.

In fact, the positive talks between the senior officials of Iran and Saudi Arabia in the past year and also after the election of the president-elect, all indicate that the two countries, understanding the sensitive conditions of the region, are interested in moving in the direction of strengthening relations and believe that the revival of these relations will bring a lot of potential in will place the authority of two countries.

This is while after the Beijing agreement between Tehran and Riyadh, some Arab countries have taken steps to restore relations and some other countries have taken steps to develop relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Along with Riyadh and Tehran, they are trying to prefer cooperation over conflict. Also, Iran's boosting ties with Saudi Arabia and other Arab and Muslim countries can cause the Zionist regime to distance itself from the Arab and Islamic countries, and this is the reason why the Zionist regime has publicly opposed the expansion of relations between these two countries and repeated attempts to stop the path of de-escalation and building trust between Tehran-Riyadh relations, but it failed because as time goes on, the conditions of the region and the world bring the two countries closer to each other. The latter has also made the relations between the two sides irreversible.203
