Iran Press/Europe: Zarif after meeting French President Emmanuel Macron in Elysee Palace on Friday told the reporters: "Our talks were follow up for President Rouhani and President Macron multiple phone calls in the past weeks."
“We will keep our talks as Macron and Mr. Rouhani will continue to have phone consultations. Our stances are quite clear. We hold that the JCPOA is non-negotiable,” Zarif said, after his today talks with Macron, Iran Press reported.
Zarif said Macron offer some suggestion and step which JCPOA signatories must take and we also present some offers in which signatories should observe their commitment according to Nuclear Deal.
“We had good and constructive talks, but it depends on how the European Union (EU) will be able to deliver on its commitments under the JCPOA and the commitments it made after the US withdrawal from the JCPOA,” Zarif highlighted.
Zarif stressed that JCPOA is not re-negotiable and said talks with the French president create an opportunity for the EU to fulfill its obligation and president Macron will talk with another side of JCPOA in G7 meeting.
Zarif is also slated to hold talks with French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian.
Iranian foreign minister also write on Twitter that multilateralism must be preserved.
Commitments under the nuclear deal known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) will be the main focus of Zarif's meetings in France.
Zarif arrived in Paris late on Thursday for talks with French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss the 2015 nuclear deal after he wrapped up the Scandinavia tour.
Before Scandinavia tour which took him to Finland, Sweden, and Norway, Zarif visited Kuwait.
