A senior advisor to the Leader of the Islamic revolution, and former foreign minister, Ali Akbar Velayati, has said the situation in Syria is a clear indication that the enemies are very worried about Syria's latest victories, particularly its great victories in Eastern Ghouta.

The top adviser to the Leader of the Islamic revolution, Ali Akbar Velayati, in an interview with IRIB,  referred to the most important achievements of his recent talks with top Syrian officials, and described relations between Tehran and Damascus as strategic.

In further remarks, Velayati said Syria has achieved great victories which in turn has agitated the enemies of  the Muslim world, as well as adversaries of the Syrian government, to try to diminish the impact of these "great victories".

Velayati went on to say:  "In sensitive times, such as today, it is wise and helpful to exchange  ideas, to consult,  with Syrian officials at all levels, so a close coordination can be achieved between the positions (stances) of Tehran and Damascus.

Velayeti also warned that "one cannot say that Syria is weaker today, or the U.S. is stronger today".
