Tehran (IP) - In a phone conversation, Iran's President and British Prime Minister discussed the latest situation in the West Asian region as well as the status of bilateral ties.

Iran PressIran News: In this phone call, the British Prime Minister discussed with the Iranian President ways to establish peace and stability in the region and the world while emphasizing improving relations between the two countries.

During this phone call the British Prime Minister said that he was deeply concerned by the situation in the region and called on all parties to de-escalate and avoid further regional confrontation.

He called on Iran to refrain from attacking Israel, adding that war was not in anyone’s interests.

The Prime Minister underlined his commitment to an immediate ceasefire, the release of all hostages, and increasing humanitarian aid to Gaza. He added that to achieve those outcomes, the focus should be on diplomatic negotiations.

In this phone call, Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian said: "Western countries' support for the Israeli regime has endangered the security of the West Asia region as well as the world."

The President described the silence of international organizations regarding the unprecedented and anti-human crimes of the Zionist regime and the support of some Western countries to this regime as an action contrary to international standards and encouraging the continuation of crime and threatening peace and security in the region and the world.

Pezeshkian added: "A punitive response to the aggressor is a solution to stop crime and aggression."

He added that Tehran welcomes the improvement of relations between the two countries.

British Prime Minister added: "The UK is ready to develop relations with Iran."

British Prime Minister, in this conversation, while emphasizing the necessity of ending the war in Gaza and quickly starting aid to the people of this region, demanded more assistance from Iran in this regard.

Announcing his country's readiness to develop relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran in the new era, the British Prime Minister expressed hope that the new ambassadors of the two countries would start their missions as soon as possible. 219
