Iran Press/ Iran news: Genetic resources are genetic material with actual or potential value, in which genetic material is any plant, animal, microbial, or other source material with hereditary functional units.
Seyed Mojtabi Khayamnekoui, Deputy Minister of Agricultural Jihad of Iran, considered the presence of 8,000 plant genetic reserves in Iran to be stronger than the entire European Union. He added: "There are seven thousand genetic reserves in the European Union."
Today on the first day of the 6th International Congress of Large Animal Clinicians, which was held at the Razi International Conference Center, Khayamnekoui added: "Of this amount of genetic reserves, 2,000 species are drugs that should gain more significance."
Iran's Deputy Minister of Agricultural Jihad, stating that five to six new technologies have been born, said: "In the field of biological sciences, the problems related to the livestock health and products have been addressed, the application of which can create a significant change in the health of the society." 219
