Tehran (IP) - The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed condolences to Afghanistan over the death of a number of Afghan people in the earthquake.

Iran PressIran News: A 6.3 magnitude earthquake jolted a vast part of Afghanistan early morning on Sunday, the center of which was Herat in the northwest of the country.

The Iranian MFA Spokesman Nasser Kanaani said that the Islamic Republic stands by the people of Afghanistan and sympathizes with them. 

According to the UN, more than 320 Afghan people have lost their lives in the natural disaster so far.  

The earthquake was felt in some parts of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
