Iran PressIran news: Iranian top diplomat mentioned that today a meeting of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Russia, Türkiye and Iran within the ‘3+3’ format (Russia, Iran, and 3 South Caucasus countries - Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Armenia) will be held in Tehran.

"War has ended in the South Caucasus region," Foreign Minister of Iran Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said during his opening speech at the meeting of Foreign Ministers within the "3+3" format in Tehran.

Amir-Abdollahian added that this meeting can be the cornerstone of restoring stability and putting an end to problems in the South Caucasus with the participation of the region and neighboring countries.

The title of the forthcoming forum is ‘time for peace, cooperation and progress in South Caucasus’, the Iranian foreign minister added, noting that the platform could lay the foundation for the establishment of calm and resolution of challenges in the South Caucasus with the participation of the intraregional actors and neighbors.

Reportedly, the first meeting in the ‘3+3’ format was held last year in Moscow at the level of deputy foreign ministers without the participation of Georgia. 219
