Baghdad (IP) - Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met on Wednesday night with Falih Al-Fayyadh, Head of Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), and Nouri al-Maliki, head of State of Law Coalition, in intensive meetings.

The head of the political and parliamentary coalition of the Iraqi State of Law Coalition also emphasized the importance of continuous communication between Iraqi and Iranian officials and considered these bilateral meetings necessary in order to strengthen relations in various fields, especially in security and economic fields.

Al-Maliki added: "The Iraqi government is eager to continue cooperation and partnership with all countries of the world, including the Islamic Republic of Iran."

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian arrived in Baghdad at the head of a delegation on Tuesday night in response to the official invitation of Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein.

Before the meeting, Iran's FM met and talked with Foreign Minister Fuad Hossein, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Al-Halbousi and Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid.

Amir-Abdollahian is also scheduled to meet and talk with the head of the Supreme Judicial Council, the head of the National Security Council and the secretary general of the Islamic Party of Iraq.
