Tehran (IP)- In a Twitter message, Iran's foreign minister expressed his sympathy with the government and people of Turkey and Syria for the recent devastating earthquake.

Iran PressIran news: "On behalf of myself, the government, and the people, we express our deep sorrow for the earthquake that occurred in 2 neighboring countries, Turkey and Syria, resulting in the death and injury of many citizens," tweeted Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

"We share the pain of the Turkiye and Syrian government and people," the tweet reads.

 Iran's top diplomat expressed Tehran's readiness for any help.

A strong earthquake jolted Türkiye’s southern province of Kahramanmaras and parts of Syria early Monday.

So far, several thousand people have been killed by this earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
