Iran Press/America: In a meeting with German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas on the sidelines of the 76th UN General Assembly in New York on Tuesday, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian announced Tehran's readiness to design relations independent of the JCPOA.
"The United States should know that all trade-offs were made once in the JCPOA negotiations, so the Vienna talks are not for a new agreement, but to ensure a full and guaranteed return of the United States to its obligations under the JCPOA and UNSCR 2231," he reiterated.
Noting that the Vienna talks must be result-oriented, he stated: "It is the right of the Iranian people to expect that the economic benefits of the JCPOA, which have not been realized due to the negligence of the other parties, will be guaranteed this time."
"Unfortunately, what we see in the policies of the current US administration is the continuation of the Trump administration's approach to imposing illegal sanctions," he said.
He called various European excuses for not fulfilling their obligations unacceptable. He pointed out that the other side should come to Vienna with the necessary flexibility and understanding of the new Iranian administration's conditions.
Amir-Abdolhian said that the economic and trade relations between Iran and Germany are not satisfactory, and it is necessary to find a way to improve them.
Heiko Maas also announced his country's commitment to the JCPOA and stated that Germany would make every effort to preserve and revive the nuclear deal.
