Iran's coronavirus: Daily deaths down to 85

Tehran (IP) - New COVID-19 deaths in Iran has decreased to 85, according to the latest figures by the health ministry.

Iran PressIran News: The Spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health Sima Sadat Lari announced on Friday that 1,274,514 people in the country had been infected with the coronavirus, and 1,058,654 of them, recovered.

According to definitive laboratory findings from yesterday to Friday, 08 January 2021 newly diagnosed patients with COVID-19 was 5,502 cases out of whom 581 patients were hospitalized, Sima Sadat Lari stated.

She noted that in the past 24 hours, 85 COVID-19 patients had lost their lives, bringing the total death toll to 56,018.

4,729 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition, according to the spokeswoman.

So far, 8,044,799 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted across the country, the Health Ministry spokeswoman pointed out.

"Based on the latest statistics, the cities of Sari, Amol, Ramsar, and northern Savadkuh in northern Iran are regarded as red zones, 43 cities as orange zones, and 401 cities as yellow zones," Lari said.
