Iran Press/Iran News: Brigadier General Kiomars Heydari told reporters on Monday that the maneuver will be held with the participation of the Airborne Brigade 55, Special Forces Brigade 65, and Quick Response Brigade 223 as well as with the transport and combat support of the Air Force.
Highlighting the exclusiveness of the drill, General Heydari said the drill will be practiced in an offensive and objective-oriented form by the army ground force, following the changes in the unit's structure by the command of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei.
All tactics used in the exercise are combined, indigenous, and creative, and are adopted with the new structures of the army ground forces, he noted.
The commander said that most of the equipment incorporated in the drill is home-made and stressed that the most significant goal of the maneuver is to assess the power of movement and offensives of the brigades, special forces, and quick response units.
Still, in the exercise, new and creative indigenous tactics will be implemented on the hypothetical enemy's shores in order to increase the penetration power and widespread attack of the quick response units.
General Heydari also pointed to the incorporation of multi-purpose expert forces capable of carrying out combined operations in different zones including sea, land, mountains, etc.
Mobile aerial operations, surface and subsurface penetration operations, and movement toward the enemy's marine targets are among the other programs of the exercise, according to the top army general.
The exercise will be held with the presence and supervision of Commander of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran Major General Seyyed Abdolrahim Mousavi as well as commanders and officials of the General Staff of the Armed Forces and the Army Headquarters.
