Tehran (IP) - Head of Iran's Anti-Narcotics Police said that developing and strengthening the country's borders are on the agenda of this unit.

Iran PressIran News: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press News Agency on the sidelines of a press conference on Wednesday, Colonel Majid Karimi stated that border blockade, physical measures to prevent the entry of narcotics into the country, and the development of intelligence measures along the borders are also part of the Anti-Narcotics Police plans.

Referring to the fact that all the damage done to Iran by narcotics are due to the narcotics products in Afghanistan, Colonel Karimi stressed that the officials of the friendly and neighborly country of Afghanistan must perform their duties properly to solve the narcotics problems.

Stating that Iran's Anti-Narcotics Police is unilaterally fighting drug trafficking, Karimi called on Afghanistan and Pakistan to cooperate with Iran in this regard.

Head of Iran's Anti-Narcotics Police highlighted that 75% of narcotics were discovered in the country's eastern provinces and efforts are being made to further reduce access to drugs by the end of the year.

According to Russia, the trans-regional intelligence services in Afghanistan are involved in narcotics trafficking in Iran.

Pointing out that drug smuggling is a kind of soft war, Karimi stressed that the trans-regional countries that target the young generation of Iran are trying to harm the country this way.
