Iran Press/Europe: In a letter to the Prime Minister of France Jean Castex on Tuesday, Iranian ambassador to Paris Bahram Qasemi stressed that the two countries' historical ties are important supports for increasing cooperation and scientific, cultural, and economic relations between Tehran and Paris.
In the letter, Qasemi also stressed the need for constructive cooperation between the two countries to change the status quo, citing the current global problems, especially the threat of international peace and security by extremism and terrorism and the devastating effects of COVID-19 on the world economy.
French President Emmanuel Macron on Friday appointed Jean Castex as his successor after the resignation of Prime Minister Édouard Philippe.
