Tehran (IP) - Iran reserves the right to respond to the state terrorism of the fake Zionist regime in due time and right place, Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani said.

Iran Press / Iran News: Kanaani made the remarks in reaction to the martyrdom of Iranian military advisors in the Zionist regime's aggressive and cowardly attack in Syria on Friday.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) said Sunday that Meghdad Mahghani Jafarabadi, who was wounded in Friday's attack by the Zionist regime near Damascus, has succumbed to his injuries.

On the same day Milad Heydari, 32, military advisers were martyred by his wounds from Israeli airstrikes in Syria.

Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman offered his condolence and considered the martyrdom of these two Iranian military advisors as part of the costs Iran has paid in its struggle in the fight against Takfiri terrorism and the terrorists' backers, including the fake Zionist regime.

By continuing its aggression against Syria, the Zionist regime is violating the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as international regulations and laws, Kanani said, describing these attacks as aimed at the continuation of strengthening terrorism.

In addition to the political and legal pursuit of such aggressive and criminal actions, the Islamic Republic of Iran reserves its right to respond to the state terrorism of the fake Israeli regime at the due time and place, he stressed.

The Zionist regime military targeted outposts in Syria's Homs province in a raid early on Sunday, the Syrian defense ministry said, while Western intelligence sources said the strikes hit a series of air bases in the central region of the country where allegedly Iranian personnel are based.

On Sunday fresh airstrikes were reported early on Sunday targeting several sites in Syria's Homs province, wounding five soldiers, Syrian state media reported.

Israel largely remains silent about the attacks. Damascus has repeatedly complained to the UN over Israeli assaults, urging the Security Council to take action against Tel Aviv’s crimes. The calls have, however, fallen on deaf ears.

Iran maintains an advisory mission in the Arab country, helping it in the face of foreign-backed terrorism.

Meanwhile, fresh airstrikes were reported early on Sunday targeting several sites in Syria's Homs province, wounding five soldiers, Syrian state media reported.

There has been no report yet about any Iranian casualty in Sunday's attack.

The fresh attacks marked the ninth time Israel has targeted positions in the Arab country since the start of the year and the third time in the last week.
