In a telephone conversation on Tuesday, Iran's minister of finance Farhad Dejpasand and The First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev conferred on the implementation of joint economic projects.

Iran Press/Asia: The two sides expressed satisfaction with the development of relations between the two countries in various fields including economy, trade, industry, agriculture, tourism, communications and information technology, transit, and transportation, exploring further development strategies for these ties.

The two sides stressed the importance of completing the factory for the production of public transport vehicles and trucks in the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the joint production units of pharmaceuticals and nuts in this country.

Dejpasand and Mustafayev also stressed the importance of building a bridge over the Astarachay River on the border between the two countries in the framework of the completion of the North-South International Transport Corridor.

Continuation of successful cooperation in the energy sector, the connection of power grids of Iran, the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Russia were other issues reviewed in the conversation.

Dejpasand and Mustafayev went on to stress the importance of maintaining economic relations between the two countries in the face of the Coronavirus Pandemic.

At the same time, the two sides expressed satisfaction with the growth of transport volume between the two countries and transit exchanges between Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan in recent months.

They also exchanged views on ways to develop cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Iran in the fields of economy, industry, transport, and joint productions.

Dejpasand and Mustafayev are co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the two countries.
