Iran Press/ Asia: Special envoy of the Iranian President for Afghanistan, Hassan Kazemi-Qomi, met with Pakistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
During the meeting, Zardari underlined Pakistan's commitment to a safe and peaceful Afghanistan, saying that the capacity of the two countries and the region should be used to help reduce the suffering and problems of the Afghan people.
He pointed to the need for constructive interaction with the current ruling body in Afghanistan to expand regional security.
The Pakistani minister also stressed the need to expand bilateral cooperation with the Islamic Republic in promoting economic and trade ties and cooperation in energy, security, and transit.
Kazemi-Qomi appreciated Pakistan's constructive role in Afghanistan and stated that peace and stability in Afghanistan are necessary for long-term regional security.
The two sides also discussed regional initiatives on the Afghanistan issue.
