Lahore (IP)-The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan met with Governor Punjab Muhammad Baleegh Ur Rehman in Lahore on Saturday and discussed expanding bilateral relations in education, culture, medicine, and trade.

Iran PressAsia: The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, said that Pakistan has had a strong religious, cultural, and linguistic connection with Iran for many centuries, cooperating with Iran in the energy sector and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a good project.

The project will fulfill the energy requirement of Pakistan, and Pakistan can cooperate with Iran in the energy sector. 

During the meeting, the Ambassador emphasized the importance of developing relations between the media of Iran and Pakistan. He also noted that Iran is among the world's best organ transplantation countries and encouraged Pakistani citizens to take advantage of this facility in their neighboring country. The Ambassador hoped that such medical tourism and other exchanges would further strengthen the friendly ties between the two brotherly nations.

Governor Punjab Muhammed Baleegh Ur Rehman also said there are many opportunities to increase bilateral trade, tourism, culture, and education cooperation. Governor Punjab expressed that Pakistan's textile and agro products are known worldwide for their high quality and can be exported to Iran.

He further added that Allama Muhammad Iqbal is known with dignity in Iran, and Jalaluddin Rumi's poems and stories are a source of inspiration for all. 

"Along with trade, the exchange of academic delegations, education experts and students in each other's universities will strengthen public relations. It is encouraging that border trade has been promoted since the recent past. The Iranian President himself came to the border and visited the markets along with the Prime Minister of Pakistan, which sent a very good message to the people of both countries", the Governor added.
