Tehran (IP) – As the Spokesman of the Iranian Elections Chief of Staff says, 32,318 candidates have entered the pre-registration mechanism until Saturday, the sixth day of the registration process for the March parliamentary election.

Iran PressIran news: The Iranian Elections Chief of Staff is preparing the grounds for the general elections, which will be due on March 1. 

Mohsen Eslami said just on Friday, 4,587 people have taken part as candidates in the pre-registration phase. 

He reported a 1-percent increase in the women candidates' registration compared to the last two days.

The registration is a two-step process, the pre-registration phase of which will continue until August 13.

The main registration phase will begin on October 19 and continues until October 25, with the finalized list of qualified candidates published on February 21, 2024.

Iran's Ministry of Interior opened pre-registration for the candidates of the parliamentary elections on Monday.  

The people will participate in the parliamentary and Assembly of Experts elections on March 1, 2024.
