The spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while referring to last night's talks between the foreign ministers of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan over phone, said that both sides are moving in the right path, i.e. bringing bilateral relations to normal.

Iran PressIran News: Speaking at his weekly press conference on Monday and in response to Iran Press correspondant, Nasser Kanani explained about the impacts of the phone calls between the foreign ministries of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan in resolving the misunderstandings between the two countries.

Kanani said: "Last night's phone call was to review the past agreements. These negotiations will continue. Delegations have also been exchanged between the two countries and negotiations have been conducted between specialized delegations."

Kanani stressed: "We are optimistic about the progress of these diplomatic efforts. I cannot say at what stage we are now, but the process is appropriate."

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added: "Reviewing the regional and economic conditions was also one of the other issues raised between the Iranian Foreign Minister and his Azerbaijani counterpart, and we hope to take further steps in the field of strengthening cooperation."
